Why Life Without Limits?
Welcome! If you have done your research you will see there are many bariatric surgeons through out Michigan. So why should you come to Life Without Limits? What sets us apart is not only Dr. Gluck’s low complication rates but also the intense aftercare program to ensure that your weight loss lasts a lifetime. Bariatric surgery is only a tool and we help instill the lifestyle changes necessary to utilize this tool for ultimate success. Here is a peek at our standard post operative program:
  • Once discharged from the hospital you will have the support of a nurse coming to your home to monitor you until your one week appointment.
  • You will have office visits at 1 week, 2 weeks, 5 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 1 year, 18 months, 2 year, and at least yearly after that. We will review a very detailed lab workup at your appointments to ensure your protein and vitamin levels are optimal during your weight loss.
  • You will have a nutrition class at 3 weeks, 8 weeks, 6 month, one year, and individual consults as needed with the registered dietitian.
  • In addition to the monthly support groups led by our social worker there is an 8 week support group, 4 month support group, and 8 month support group so you can discuss questions or concerns with those who had surgery the same time as you.
  • If for some reason down the road you feel you are getting off track there is a Back on Track class that will steer you back in the right direction and we will follow up monthly for support and guidance.
  • You will have a workout facility available to you for one year without charge. If you are from out of town, we do have some affiliate programs in outlying areas that offer discounts for membership to their facilities.

To say the least, you are not forgotten after surgery! This is why we have patients come from all over Michigan and out of state as well. For those traveling we do consolidate appointments and classes for your convenience.
